Kyrgyz State Medical Academy (KSMA) was founded in 1939 and is considered one of the oldest and most prestigious medical educational institutions in Asia, as well as the oldest medical university in Kyrgyzstan. The academy is located in the capital city of Bishkek and provides high-quality medical education for both local and international students. The academy admitted its first intake of students in 1942. It is distinguished by more than 80 years of experience, strong medical education and advanced laboratory facilities, a highly qualified international teaching staff, globally recognized degrees, modern teaching methods, extensive student exchange programs and international partnerships, specialized research and training centers, and a student population exceeding 45,000 from around 40 countries. It also prepares students for international medical licensing exams such as USMLE and PLAB.
