The university was established by a presidential decree issued by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Askar Akayev, on March 11, 1993. Later, by a decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on December 30, 1998, as well as under the legislation of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, the university was granted the status of an independent academic self-governing institution. The university is considered one of the oldest educational institutions in the country. Its founding partners include the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan, the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, and San Francisco State University in the United States. The university is located in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. Its historic and aesthetically designed buildings are situated in central locations across the city. In addition to its main campus in Bishkek, the university has three major campuses, more than 8 modern academic buildings, private hospitals, student dormitories, and branches in Osh, Jalal-Abad, and Karakol. University Highlights: The university has over 30 years of academic experience, providing extensive expertise and continuous development in the medical field. In 2021, it was ranked as the second-best educational institution among 64 institutions in the country. It includes a distinguished group of professors and experts in various medical specialties. Its degrees are internationally recognized, enabling graduates to work in many countries worldwide. The university uses modern technologies and advanced teaching methods to ensure high-quality and comprehensive education.
